Koats for Kids

United Way Koats for Kids 2018

Make no mistake; the cold weather is just around the corner! Overwhelmed by the need and the community support, Koats for Kids is back for its 18th year to provide children with a way to stay warm during the long Manitoba winters.

For the month of October the organizers welcome all gently used outerwear. Donations of good quality children’s jackets, ski pants, toques, mittens, and scarves can be dropped off at the Portage Fire Hall, Tupper Street Family Resource Centre, Bank of Montreal, Stride Place, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Circle K (Mac’s Convenience Store), United Way Central Plains and two Terrier Games – October 7th and 15th. All donated coats will be cleaned thanks to the Manitoba Development Centre. We do not accept coats in need of repair.

Once the coats are cleaned they will be collected and distributed during the month of November. Distribution will take place in the back room of Youth for Christ with Koats for Kids having access through their own back door. The distribution will take place the first four Thursdays in November from 2:00pm to 5:30pm. Please bring your Manitoba Health card with you when picking up coats.

If you would like more information please contact us at 204-857-4440.

Please give generously so no child is left out in the cold.
